(New York-WABC, October 11, 2004) -- A frightening and deadly scene on a street in Connecticut on Monday, as a small plane crashes into a house. Both people who were on the plane are dead.

It happened late in the afternoon in Madison, which is along the Long Island Sound near New Haven. The pilot reported engine trouble, and was apparently trying to make an emergency landing in a nearby ball field.

The people in the house, two adults and a child, were not injured. But the pilot and his female passenger were killed.
