ATTICA, Ind. (AP) -- Fire severely damaged several buildings on Tuesday in the downtown area of a small western Indiana towns.
Fires broke out in five trash bins with a 25-minute span within a one-block area shortly after midnight, Attica police and firefighters said.
Fire spread through the L.C. Roemer & Son Furniture store. Video from a news helicopter over the scene showed firefighters removing debris from a building where the roof had collapsed.
Neighboring buildings in the same block of the Fountain County town about 20 miles southwest of Lafayette were damaged.
Indianapolis television station WRTV reported that investigators considered the fires suspicious, but the exact cause has not been determined.
No injuries were reported.
