Firefighters from the eastern Kentucky company drove eight hours to pick up the 25-year-old vehicle.

Free to good home: one (1) bucket truck. 25+ years experience serving the citizens of Winchester and nearby. Looks good, runs great. Slightly rusty.

The Leatherwood Fire and Rescue Company took it, rust and all.

Firefighters from the eastern Kentucky company drove eight hours to Winchester Monday afternoon to pick up the old vehicle from wistful members of the Rouss Volunteer Fire and Rescue Company.

Though the vehicle had scarcely been used since Rouss bought a ladder truck 18 months ago, Deputy Chief Cliff Montgomery could not get his mind off it all afternoon.
