September 27, 2004 -- Members of both the Finest and the Bravest were arrested yesterday for drunken driving - the second time in a week a cop and firefighter were busted on DWI charges.
Police Officer Anthony Rosser, 41, of Brooklyn, was arrested at 5 a.m. after he slammed his 1990 Nissan into another car at the intersection of Clarendon Road and Kings Highway in the East Flatbush section of Brooklyn, cops said.
Rosser, a 19-year veteran of the NYPD, was suspended from his post at the Brooklyn North Task Force.
The other motorist, a woman driving a 1996 Dodge, was treated for minor injuries and released at Kings County Hospital.
In an earlier incident, firefighter Thomas Cappelli was busted shortly after midnight after cops smelled alcohol on his breath at a checkpoint on the Gowanus Expressway near Hicks Street in Brooklyn's Red Hook section, police said.
Cappelli, 25, has been a firefighter for 11/2 years at Engine Co. 318 in Coney Island.
He's the 35th firefighter to be nabbed for DWI this year.
