Kentucky House Fire Brings Back Sad Memories; House Burns Near Where Firefighter Was Killed
Feb. 4, 2005
Lexington Firefighters were busy on Adams Lane late Thursday night.
The location brings back sad memories for firefighters. It's the same road where a Lexington firefighter was shot and killed nearly one year ago.
The fire happened two doors down from where Lt. Brenda Cowan was killed on February 13th of last year.
When Lexington fire chief Bob Hendricks heard there was a call to Adams Lane, he went to the scene to see what was going on.
The chief said it was a said it was really a strange feeling walking up on the street.
The home owner, Ralph Smith and his girlfriend, were in the home when the fire broke out. They escaped unharmed.
However, the home has severe damage. The cause is under investigation, but firefighters say the fire started in the garage.
