Virginia Firefighters Tackle Apartment Fire

A mother and her two children are safe this morning after escaping an apartment fire Sunday.

It started in a bedroom late at an apartment on Pony Farm drive. Even though firefighters were able to contain the blaze to one room, the family cannot stay there. They are currently in another apartment at the same complex and the Red Cross is helping with food and supplies.

The fire department has not determined what caused the fire.
