MOSCOW (AP) -- A fire broke out in a coal mine in Siberia on Tuesday, injuring 10 miners who suffered from carbon-monoxide poisoning, an emergency official said.

Three of the miners were in critical condition after breathing fumes from the fire at a mine in Kiselyovsk, in the Kemerovo region some 3,000 kilometers (1,850 miles) east of Moscow, Emergency Situations Ministry spokesman Sergei Vlasov said.

All 86 miners who were underground when the blaze broke out were evacuated, but it was unclear whether the fire had been extinguished, Vlasov said.

A methane blast at another mine in the coal-rich Kemerovo region in April killed 47 miners.
