KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- A paramedic who was gunned down in the line of duty in February returned to the job Monday.
Paramedic Mary Seymour was shot during an explosive incident off Bannister Road and 95th Street.
Monday, she was just happy to be alive and back on the job.
"That was awesome what they did. I just, I mean, I can't thank them enough, because I know what they did to come get me," Seymour said.
She said she would have died if emergency workers hadn't pulled her away from the scene.
"I owe my life to a lot of people, fire and Research (hospital) and paramedics here, everybody afterwards," Seymour said.
Seymour planned to ride with the same partner she was with the day of the shooting.
