The Lake Area has lost a longtime civil servant. Algie Breaux -- former Calcasieu Parish Police Juror and Lake Charles firefighter -- has passed away.
The Lake Area has lost a longtime civil servant. Algie Breaux -- former Calcasieu Parish Police Juror and Lake Charles firefighter -- has passed away.

Breaux died Tuesday night at his home in Holmwood, after a lengthy battle with cancer. Breaux dedicated his life to serving others; after attending McNeese, he went on to become a firefighter. He stayed with the LCFD for 33 years -- 11 of those, he served as fire chief.
