A Chicago firefighter was conducting traffic control when a car driven by a 70-year-old Chicago man attempted to merge into traffic and struck him in the back. The construction workers were involved in a separate accident
Two construction workers and a Chicago firefighter were struck by motorists in two separate accidents Tuesday, authorities said.

The first happened at 5:25 a.m. in the southbound lanes of the Dan Ryan Expressway at 62nd Street on Chicago's South Side.
