(Lawrence-WABC, June 15, 2004) -- A massive fire at a newspaper plant in Nassau County.

Shannon Sohn reports from NewsCopter 7 over the scene in Lawrence, Long Island.

This is the Nassau Herald Building, located at 397 Central Avenue at the intersection with Washington Avenue.

We are told the call came in at about 3:30 this afternoon that a fire had started in the printing area of this building, and that by the time they got on the scene, the fire had spread throughout the building.

Ten towns have responded to the blaze.

There are 12 community newspapers produced in this building, which mostly serve the south shore of Nassau County. So you can imagine the amount of paper inside this building.

No injuries have been reported.
