BALTIMORE (AP) -- A federal judge sentenced an Elkton man to 60 months in prison for setting fires at Home Depot stores in Edgewood and Bel Air.

Judge William Quarles also ordered the sentence for Derek Hall Sr., to be followed by two years of supervised release, according to U.S. Attorney Thomas DiBiagio's office.

Hall was a former employee of Home Depot whose employment had been terminated in March for creating a hostile work environment, according to a court statement. Hall was seen on security cameras in each of the stores shortly before the fires happened.

The fires broke out while the stores were open, forcing the evacuation of customers and employees.

Hall also was observed at the site of another fire at a Home Depot store in Newark, Del., and a can of acetone - a flammable paint remover - was found with Hall's fingerprint, authorities said.
