Building Fire In Beijing Kills Nine, Injures 39

BEIJING (AP) -- A fire at a Beijing building complex on Wednesday killed nine people and injured 39 others, the government said.

The blaze at a commercial complex called Jingmin Mansion broke out around 4 p.m. and was extinguished a few hours later, the official Xinhua News Agency reported.

The city fire department referred questions to its news office, where phones rang unanswered Wednesday night.
