MORAVIA, Iowa (AP) -- An explosion and fire that destroyed a house remained under investigation, authorities said Monday.
No one was injured in Sunday morning's explosion in Moravia, the Appanoose County sheriff's office said.
The home was owned by Billy Miller and his family.
The explosion happened around 9:30 a.m, and by the time deputies arrived, the house was engulfed in flames.
Miller's 15-year-old son was asleep in the house when the explosion happened, but he was not hurt, the sheriff's office said.
The cause of the blast was under investigation by the sheriff's office, the Moravia Fire Department and Alliant Energy.
