CHARLO (AP) -- A 13-year-old Charlo boy died in a weekend fire that also left his mother hospitalized in Seattle with serious burns, Lake County officials reported Monday.

Devon Edwards died Saturday morning, likely of smoke inhalation, said Undersheriff Mike Sergeant. He said officials are awaiting results of an autopsy.

The boy's mother, Marthy Edwards, 34, was first taken to hospitals in Ronan and then Missoula before being taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle where she is being treated for ``serious burns and smoke inhalation,'' Sergeant said.

Sergeant said two other children and an adult were in the trailer when the fire started. They were treated for minor injuries and smoke inhalation and released.

Sergeant said investigators suspect the fire was accidental and caused by an electrical problem.
