ANDERSON - Michael Stokes Martin, 18, of 145 Latham Drive died Friday, May 14, 2004.
Born in Tacoma, WA., he was a senior at Belton-Honea Path High School, where he was active in F.F.A. and F.C.A. He was involved in the Southeastern Circuit Motorcross Division. He was a part-time employee with Quality Foods in Anderson. He also served, for the past three years, as a volunteer firefighter with the Ebenezer Volunteer Fire Department and for one and a half years as a first responder.
He had planned to attend Greenville Technical College to secure a degree in fire science to become a full time firefighter. Michael was a member of High Praises Church of God, where he was active in Core Youth ministries.
Surviving are his parents, Mike and Margie Martin of the home; sisters, Tyanne Martin of Sandy Springs and Heidi Madden of Belton; and grandmothers, Sara Martin of Anderson and Donna Condell of Puyallup, Wash.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers Wiley Stokes Martin and David Condell.
Services are at 3 p.m. Tuesday at High Praises Church of God by the Revs. Chris Sustar and Scott Taylor; burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Anderson. The body is at The McDougald Funeral Home in Anderson. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at High Praises Church of God.
The family will be at the residence.
