BERLIN (AP) -- A commuter train collided with a track-laying locomotive Saturday in the southern German city of Munich, injuring more than 40 people, 10 seriously, police said.
The commuter train, with about 100 people on board, was approaching the Leuchtenbergring station at about 20 mph at the time of the accident Saturday morning. Germany's Deutsche Bahn railroad said one of the drivers appeared to have run a red light.
The impact shattered windows and jolted passengers out of their seats. Police said the 10 most seriously injured people were hospitalized with bone fractures, while 32 more suffered cuts and bruises.
