Four Car Accident On I-280 In New Jersey Kills One

(Livingston, NJ-WABC, May 4, 2004) -- A tractor-trailer driver slammed into a prior accident on I-280 in Livingston this morning, killing one person.

The force of the crash sent the westbound tractor-trailer careening across the grass median and the highway's eastbound lanes into the woods. The driver of the rig was being evaluated for injuries.

The tractor-trailer slammed into two vehicles which were already involved in a crash. The driver of one of those vehicles was killed, and the other was seriously injured.

Westbound lanes of I-280 are closed through the area, while eastbound lanes are open.
