(New Jersey-WABC, April 28, 2004) -- There was a fire near some train tracks in Bridgewater, NJ. early this morning.

It was a fire on a utility pole adjacent to NJ Transit tracks. The fire was near the Raritan Valley train tracks. Around 6:00 a.m. the utility pole was burning away. The fire department was on the scene along with PSE and G.

The train tracks that run by the burning pole carried trains from the NJ Transit Raritan Valley line. Around 6:00 a.m. NJ Transit said there were some delays on trains headed through this area. The location of this fire is just west of the Commerce Bank Ball Park in Bridgewater. Trains were running at a reduced speed through this area.

However, at 6:23 a.m., PSE and G said it was a 26, 000 volt circuit line that was burning. They also said they would let the fire burn itself out. Meanwhile, trains on the Raritan Valley line were passing through this area and there was only a brief delay as the train passed by the utility pole.
