KEARNY - A two-alarm fire broke out yesterday at a construction project on the grounds of the Hudson County Correctional Center, but firefighters had the blaze under control in just over an hour, fire officials said.

The blaze began at 4:45 p.m. in the open framework of a four-story structure being built apart from the main jail facility, Kearny fire officials said.

Until firefighters got the blaze under control about 6 p.m., the fire burned in several wooden forms used for setting concrete that were on the top floor of the structure, officials said.

As of last night, officials had not determined the cause of the blaze.
