SALEM -- A weekend house fire that injured three firefighters and critically burned an occupant of the dwelling may have been caused by a juvenile playing with matches, officials said Monday.

Salem Fire Department responded at 9:42 a.m. Saturday morning to the corner of Wesley and Olive Streets for a house fire that started in the second floor front bedroom.

According to Salem City Police reports, 70-year old Jessie Simmons, her 43-year-old son McKinley Simmons and a 9-year old juvenile relative were in the three-story home at the time of the fire.
