A firefighter was charged with drunk driving and may face manslaughter charges after an accident in Brooklyn that left an 18-year-old dead on Friday.

Police say 33-year-old Firefighter Alfred Delosrios tried to turn onto Avenue M from Ocean Parkway when he hit a BMW driven by 18-year-old Roland Tetrvashvili.

The BMW slammed into a lamp post and then wrapped around a tree, killing Tetrvashvili, police said. A witness said the car was torn apart.

"It looked like a three-car accident but it was only two," said one man. "There was a jeep that was still in one piece but the BMW was so badly damaged and wrapped around the tree that it looked like two cars, it was almost disintegrated."

Delosrios, who now suspended from Ladder 173 in Howard Beach, Queens, is charged with DWI and prosecutors may also charge him with manslaughter.

Delosrios is a former police officer who joined the Fire Department six months ago. He was not seriously injured in the accident, and police said he refused to take a breathalyzer test.

The firefighter's union said it would not comment on the accident.
