Firefighters were still at the scene yesterday of one of Irvington's biggest fires in recent years and will continue to monitor the landmark vacant warehouse for at least another 24 hours, fire Chief Donald Huber said.
The building at 605 21st St. went up in flames Monday night. Fueled by strong winds, the blaze was fought by more that 100 firefighters from Irvington and surrounding communities.
The warehouse has a history of fires, as many as five in the past five years, the last one occurring only last week.
