SALEM -- Convicted arsonist Shawn R. Strader had his sentencing pushed back to next month, authorities said.

Strader, 23, of Pennsville was due to be sentenced today, but it was rescheduled at the defense's request.

At that May 18 court date, authorities intend to seek an extended prison term in excess of 20 years, said William Brennan, first Assistant Salem County Prosecutor. But first there likely will be a hearing on Strader's request for a new trial.
