CASTLETON Gerald C. Stalker, 61, of South Main Street, died while performing his ambulance duties for the Castleton Volunteer Ambulance on Saturday, April 3, 2004. Born in Hudson, N.Y., he had been a Castleton resident for 35 years. Mr. Stalker was an Air Force veteran serving in both Korea and Vietnam for 10 years as a staff sergeant. He was a life member of the Castleton Volunteer Ambulance and a longtime member of the Castleton Fire Company. He also was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church and its choir. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Ruth Johnson Stalker; a daughter, Brenda Nixon; a son, James Stalker; a sister, Melinda Bedell, all of Castleton; four grandchildren, Erin, Brendan, Aidan and Kerrigan Nixon; several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 1583 Carney Rd., Castleton, NY 12033. Friends are invited and may call at the Ray Funeral Home, 59 Seaman Ave., Castleton, N.Y.
