A Final, Heartwrenching Goodbye In New Jersey

Ashley, Sydney and Jacky Crincoli Jr. spent their brief lives together. Yesterday, their tiny bodies were laid to rest in the same fashion.

The three young children, killed by a fire that raced through their Warren County apartment last week, lay in a single white casket as their anguished mother said goodbye to them in a hushed Orange church.

Her soft voice barely audible and broken by sobs, Nicole Valente looked skyward, toward the church's soaring dome, and spoke of holding her son in her arms for the first time, of hearing someone call her "mommy," of the joy her children brought to her.
