Jersey City Fire Department arson investigators arrested a city man on arson charges Monday after he allegedly set fire to his bedroom drapes after an argument with his wife, officials said.

In another incident on the same day, a man allegedly set fire to a mattress after an argument with family members, but he ran away and investigators are still trying to track him down, officials said.

Arson investigators arrested Oscar Zalaya, 30, of Pearsall Avenue near Ocean Avenue, and charged him with aggravated arson. Police charged him with aggravated assault, making terroristic threats and a domestic violence charge, Arson Unit Capt. Mark Venice said yesterday.
