March 12, 2004 -- A Long Island firefighter was in stable condition yesterday after sustaining second-degree burns over 18 percent of his body battling a house fire in Huntington Station.
The firefighter had to be airlifted to University Hospital after the Wednesday blaze.
Four other injured firefighters were taken to Huntington Hospital. All but one were treated and released. The remaining firefighter was admitted for observation due to chest pains.
Suffolk Arson Squad detectives determined the origin of the fire to be an electrical fault.
