Samuel Sosnicky, Newark, New Jersey Firefighter, 85, Honored For Fire Safety Efforts

Samuel Sosnicky, 85, of Union died yesterday in the Father Hudson House, Elizabeth.

A Mass will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in Holy Spirit Church, Union, after the funeral from the Union Funeral Home-Lytwyn & Lytwyn, 1600 Stuyvesant Ave., Union.

Mr. Sosnicky was a member of the Newark Fire Department before retiring in 1984. During his 47 years with the fire department, he served as a firefighter, arson squad investigator and school fire safety inspector.
