Thomas Finn, Stalwart New Jersey Plumber And Firefighter

Recognizing Thomas Finn's 50 years with the Far Hills-Bedminster Fire Company, friends and fellow firefighters honored him last year during their annual dinner.

Meeting in the Fiddler's Elbow County Club in Bedminster, they gave gold watches to Mr. Finn and another half-century volunteer.

"He was a small-town guy that everybody liked," said his daughter, Peggy Cahill of San Carlos, Calif. "He was a man of few words but he had a big heart. Everybody loved him."
