McADOO, Pa. (AP) -- Dozens of vehicles crashed Friday in heavy fog on Interstate 81 in eastern Pennsylvania, injuring seven people, officials said.
``There were cars and trucks all over, some smashed and others just pulled off to the side,'' McAdoo Fire Company Assistant Chief Anthoney Vigna said.
The pileup between Frackville and McAdoo, involving 20 to 25 vehicles, backed up traffic for more than a mile, police said.
Most seriously injured was a woman who was trapped inside her vehicle by a crash that apparently involved at least one other car, a van and two trucks. Officials gave no details about her injuries.
Six other people suffered mostly cuts and scrapes, McAdoo Fire Chief Eugene Rosato said.
