Two People Killed, Two Escape Indiana Blaze

Fire investigators were combing through the charred ruins of the home early Tuesday morning looking for clues in the cause of the fatal fire in Fort Wayne.

Two people died and two others escaped a fire early this morning.

The Fort Wayne Fire Department was called to a house fire at 3:47 a.m. to 4114 Robinwood Drive. Two people were outside but two others inside were carried out by fire fighters.

One firefighter was injured in the fire.

Fire investigators were combing through the charred ruins of the home early Tuesday morning looking for clues in the cause of the fatal fire.

The outside of the house had warped and buckled siding and most of the windows, were broken out. Small piles of debris lay next to the house. On the north side of the home the siding on the house next door was melted attesting to the heat of the blaze.

Down the block school children were standing outside, waiting for the school bus. A man who lived a half block down the street said he had neither seen or heard the fire.

Fire investigators said the fire is still under investigation and it is really to early to tell what was the caused fatal blaze.
