Two members of the Clearfield fire department have been charged with setting fires. Police have not released their names, but say one of them is juvenile.
Their arrests follow a six month investigation, during which state and borough police determined that they were responsible for setting three structure fires in a five month period. The two are accused of starting an August porch fire, an October fire in a garage used for storage, and a December fire in a vacant apartment building. Total damages from the three fires are estimated at 118-thousand dollars. Each of the suspects is facing more than 45 criminal counts.
