VAIL, Colo. (AP) -- Firefighter Ryan Sutter from ``The Bachelorette'' has returned to work after more than six months of wooing and then marrying Trista Rehn.

``I am a little rusty,'' Sutter said of his firefighter duties. ``It's the little things that I need to work on, such as remembering where things are, like keys. I couldn't find my boots this morning, so I have to remember where I put them.''

Around 10 a.m. Thursday, firefighters responded to a medical call in Vail, the first call of the day for Sutter. ``He did an awesome job,'' said firefighter Craig Davis.

After returning from the call, Sutter sauntered around the fire station in his yellow jumpsuit and said, ``It's so good to be back.''

But he admitted he was a little nervous for his first shift.

``The fun part about this job, though, is being on call,'' Sutter said. ``You never know what's going to come across out there, and these guys here are all good friends of mine.''

ABC's ``The Bachelorette'' pitted 25 men against each other for Rehn's attention.

When the show first aired, Sutter said, his life was a madhouse. Many female viewers came to the fire station to meet Sutter, who stood out from the competition by writing poetry for Rehn.

More than 17 million people tuned in to watch Sutter and Rehn's televised wedding in December.
