On this very frigid Friday, some 15 people have been forced out of their homes by a fire that's being called suspicious. It happened early this morning in the Bushwick section of Brooklyn.

It took firefighters more than an hour to get a handle on this blaze. This was a ferocious fire. There was parts of the roof and glass shattered all over a nearby sidewalk. Two people from this blaze were rushed to the hospital in critical condition. They were in respiratory arrest.

Five other people are also in stable condition. The fire started just after 12:30 a.m. this morning at the three-story building. There is a grocery store on the ground floor and two floors of apartments above that. This two-alarm fire caught many people off-guard.

Firefighters from Ladder Company 124 had to rescue one family from the roof.

Joey Gonzalez, Bushwick Resident: "They had to wake the grandparents up and one of the sisters dragged the grandfather from the last room to the kitchen window to pull him out."

The Red Cross is helping those families that are out of the building with housing. Police say the cause of this fire is suspicious.
