Seven Injured In Los Angeles Multi-Car Crash

An accident that involved at least seven vehicles, two of which struck a storefront, injured seven people Monday in the San Fernando Valley, authorities said.

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- An accident that involved at least seven vehicles, two of which struck a storefront, injured seven people Monday in the San Fernando Valley, authorities said.

The accident occurred about 8:30 a.m. near a freeway exit on Sepulveda Boulevard in Sherman Oaks. Three people were in critical condition and four others had minor injuries, said fire department spokesman Bob Collis.

Authorities were trying to determine how the accident occurred. Television footage showed one person trapped in their vehicle and another car overturned. A flatbed truck that appeared to have two vehicles on board and an additional vehicle ran into a storefront.

It wasn't immediately known if anyone in the businesses were hurt.
