The driver of the car and his eight year old son were taken to university Hospital. A North Syracuse Fire Department vehicle en route to an accident crashed with a car at Sweetheart Corners in North Syracuse at about 5:30 pm Thursday night.

The fire chief was driving the vehicle involved in the accident.
Police say he had his lights and sirens on and, after pausing and checking the intersection, the car came through.
Police say the driver of the car had a green light.
The accident is still under investigation.
The crash is similar to an accident in Watertown on Wednesday, when a school bus and a fire engine crashed, injuring two students on the bus.
