3-Alarm Fire Rips Through N.Y. Businesses

(New York-WABC, November 6, 2003) -- A three-alarm fire ripped through several businesses in the heart of Bayonne. It caused a lot of damage but no one was hurt. There's still no word on how it started.

Firefighters battled the blaze from numerous angles, including stretching a line through the living room of a neighboring home to fight the flames.

The strip of businesses threatened by the fire are part of a Bayonne Special Improvement District, a section of Broadway designated for economic growth.
