WASHINGTON (AP) -- A Wisconsin company is recalling 92,000 resin-encased novelty candles because the candleholders can ignite, posing a serious burn or fire hazard to consumers.

Lang Candles of Delafield, Wis., has received nine reports of the candles igniting, including six incidents resulting in property damage, the Consumer Product Safety Commission said Wednesday. No injuries have been reported.

The candles came in 52 models, including a birdhouse, a watering can and a flowerpot, and in various Halloween and Christmas designs. They measure between 1 1/2 inches to 4 inches tall and 2 1/2 inches to 3 inches wide. The candles are multicolored and scented with various fragrances, including vanilla, eucalyptus, lavender and butter pecan.

Most of the models are filled with wax or have a metal, wax-filled cup inside the unit. The bottom of the candles are labeled ``LANG CANDLES, LTD. 800.260.8297 www.lang.com MADE IN CHINA.''

The candles were sold at craft and candle stores between September 2001 and May 2003 for between $9 and $13. They were sold individually or in packs of two or three.

Consumers are urged to stop using the candles immediately and contact Lang Candles to receive a refund at 1-888-526-4011. Pictures of the candles and instructions on obtaining a refund are available on the company's Web site at www.lang.com/resincandles.shtml.
