CHELMSFORD A firefighter was injured yesterday in a one-alarm fire that started in a basement when a homeowner was soldering pipes.

The fire at a single-family home at 40 Tyngsboro Road was knocked down in a little less than an hour, Capt. James Boermeester said. It was reported at 12:40 p.m. and was reported out at 1:20.

"They chased it a while through the walls. It started in the basement and then moved through the walls up the first and second floors," he said.

Firefighter John Robinson pulled a shoulder muscle while hauling the fire hose, and was treated at a local hospital and released, Boermeester said.
