An early morning fire guts a series of small buildings at East Jersey State Prison in Woodbridge.

The fire broke out at 4:00 a.m. this morning, this place is formerly known as Rahway State Prison. The fire broke out in a series of trailers and has been burning out of control ever since. They were work trailers in the rear of the property at East Jersey State Prison.

The trailers were used for clothing manufacturing and metal manufacturing. There were no inmates inside this area at the time the fire broke out but there were some inmates inside the adjacent buildings. They have been moved as a precaution.

This fire is not considered suspicious and there are no injuries at this hour.
