February 22, 2004 -- Two firefighters suffered minor injuries yesterday during a two-alarm apartment-house blaze that raged for nearly an hour on the Upper West Side.
The blaze erupted at 2:27 p.m. inside a vacant apartment at 2781 Broadway between West 107th Street and West 108th Street, quickly engulfing the top two floors of the building.
Twenty-five fire vehicles and 110 firefighters were needed to extinguish the inferno, which was declared under control at 3:22 p.m.
Two firefighters were taken to area hospitals with minor cuts and bruises, an FDNY spokesman said.
