Twenty families were displaced after a five-alarm fire gutted a four-story apartment building early yesterday morning in Cliffside Park.
No injuries were reported in the Bergen County blaze, which investigators believe began shortly before 2:15 a.m. in a Laundromat below the Palisade Avenue apartments.
More than 100 firefighters from nearly a dozen departments responded to the fire, which took four hours to get under control because of icy conditions and water pressure problems, said Cliffside Park Deputy Fire Chief Al DeLeon.
