The boy was doing maintenance on the elevator in the 800 block of Monastery Street in Mount Adams with his father when it jammed, WLWT Eyewitness News 5 reported.

The father was able to climb a ladder out of the 100-foot shaft, but the boy didn't think he could make it.

Firefighters climbed down and put the boy in a safety harness, then helped him climb out. No injuries were reported.
