Fire Breaks Out on CDC Building's Roof

A small fire broke out on the roof of the building at the the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention early Friday afternoon.
ATLANTA (AP) -- A small fire broke out on the roof of the building at the the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention early Friday afternoon.

The fire began in an area under construction at about noon, according to Atlanta television station WAGA, which has studios near the CDC.

Construction workers remained near the blaze, trying to extinguish the flames with water hoses. Fire trucks had just arrived on the scene at 12:15 p.m.

Flames and black smoke could be seen on the top of the building where rolls of roofing material were standing in video showed by WAGA.
