Rescue crews worked 50 feet above the ground trying to save a man's life after a tragic accident Monday morning.
When Williamson County rescue units and Franklin firefighters arrived, the tree trimmer was suspended 50 feet off the ground by his safety harness, unresponsive. It took close to 90 minutes to get the man down, where he was officially pronounced dead at the scene.
Williamson Co. Sheriff's Dep. Dusty Rhoades said, "Something gave way in the boom, causing the bucket to fall and topple and he came out. As far as [we are] concerned, it is an accidental death."
What happened and how the man died is now under investigation. Officials have not released the name of the man, who worked as a tree-trimmer for a Georgia company subcontracted by Middle Tennessee Electric.
