SOUTH WINDSOR, Conn. (AP) -- A man was killed early Sunday in a fire that swept through a bedroom in a mobile home, police said.
The body of Istvan Romann, 48, was found in his bedroom, fire officials said.
Firefighters and police tried to revive Romann with CPR and an external defibrillator before taking him to Hartford Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Fire officials did not immediately know the cause of the blaze.
A resident of the Village Park mobile home complex reported the fire to authorities shortly before 4 a.m.
A smoke alarm was going off when firefighters wearing air masks and tanks entered the home and removed Romann.
The fire was extinguished quickly and contained to the bedroom.
