A 53-year-old Model City woman died Saturday from burns she received at the hands of her abusive ex boyfriend.

According to Miami police, the man set her aflame with a gasoline-filled bleach bottle, as the woman's youngest child watched. The son was also hurt in the attack, police said.

Lt. Bill Schwartz, a Miami police spokesman, said Dorothy Lundy died this morning at 7:50 a.m. at Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma unit, where she was being treated for second- and third-degree burns received May 10. More than 60 percent of her body was engulfed by flames in the attack.

Police are still looking for the man they think committed the crime, who they identified as Thomas Mobley, 47.
