October 31, 2003 -- A woman died last night when fire swept through her Queens home, authorities said.

Renee Forman, 39, was rushed to Mary Immaculate Hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation after firefighters fought their way through heavy flames to get into her single-family home at 120-15 178th St. in St. Albans at about 9:30 p.m.

She died about a half-hour later.

Thick, black smoke poured from Forman's home. Neighbors, fearing the blaze would spread, rushed into the street.

"I was putting my daughter to bed when I saw a flash out of the window," Miriam Favours said. "I grabbed her and we ran out of the house with what we could take. I couldn't see anything after that."
