A 54-year-old woman died Sunday night when fire consumed her Lake Oswego home.
Firefighters say the entire Oak Street house was engulfed in flames when crews arrived shortly after 10 p.m.
Firefighters learned that a woman might be inside but had to wait until the two-alarm blaze was under control before searching.
The victim reportedly lived alone in the home. Her name was withheld until her family could be notified.
Investigators returned to the scene Monday morning. Arson was ruled out.
It was Lake Oswego's first fire fatality since the mid-1980s.
